My wife Sara and I had the privilege of seeing our baby via ultrasound today.  Sara is 20 weeks along and we are proud to announce that we will be having a baby boy.  This is an exciting time for us and I can’t help but reflect on how amazing God’s creations are.

The human body is a finely tuned machine that can’t be duplicated even though attempts have been unsuccessfully made.  God uniquely designed each and every one of us to be similar but yet very different on multiple levels.  He even knows every hair on our head (if applicable) according to scripture.  I just can’t fathom the complexity and precision that goes into each precious creation that we know as humans.

Animals are just as amazing and I continue to be perplexed as we discover and explore new creatures from various geographic locations.  The intricacies of each design just blow me away as the different shapes, sizes and colors are so detailed.  The animals even have their own communication systems.  The food chain itself is even a disturbingly wonderful thing that reflects the perfection of the designer.

Nature is a tapestry that is hard to even describe.  God’s amazing designs are written all over the world around us and it covers the spectrum of sight, smell, taste, touch, audio…etc.  The mountains, the valleys, the deserts, the plains, the islands, the marshes, the rainforests, the everglades and so many other areas are just so uniquely orchestrated that it seems almost impossible to believe in anything other than our Creator.

As an analytical guy I often try to figure things out and God’s design is just one of those things that can’t really be explained.  Since I can’t seem to analyze it in a sufficient way, I make it a point to at least enjoy it as often as possible.  We are so blessed to be alive and I challenge you to make the most out of this life while you have the chance.  As I grow older, I understand more clearly the cliché “stop and smell the roses”.
